When should I apply?

We encourage applications to be submitted at least one year prior to entry. However, later applications will be considered at any time dependent on availability.

At which year levels can students join the School?

Our major intake years are New Entrants (5 years old), Year 4 and Year 7.

Students may join the School at any year level if places are available.

Is there an opportunity for me to see the School before I submit an application?

We hold one Open Day at the beginning of the year and Campus Tours throughout the year. 

Are there any criteria for acceptance?

All applications receive our consideration. Priority is given to students transferring from Saint Kentigern Preschool and current Saint Kentigern families.

What happens at the interview?

Interviews are conducted by the Principal and take place in an encouraging and friendly atmosphere with the parents present throughout. It is normal that the Principal will direct some questions to the prospective student, (this will vary according to the age of the student) and record notes during the interview, which will last approximately 15 minutes. A tour of the campus follows the interview.

Do you cater for students of all ability levels?

We provide education opportunities aligned to the interests and abilities of individual students. There is a well-established system of support for all learners whether they require extension or learning support.

Do I have to reapply for my child to continue their education at Saint Kentigern College?

All Saint Kentigern Boys' School students are offered priority acceptance to attend Saint Kentigern College, without the need to reapply.

Are there Scholarships available?

We offer a number of scholarships to accomplished students whose circumstances would otherwise preclude their enrolment. These awards, both academic and all-round, are available to boys in Year 6 at a New Zealand school, offering them a place for entry in Year 7. The scholarships may contribute up to half of the annual tuition fees and are available for two years.
