We welcome your interest for a place as an international student at Saint Kentigern College.
Applications should be made on the official Application for Enrolment Form which is available with the Prospectus on request from the College Admissions Office or may be downloaded from the link below.
Information about application and tuition fees, along with the costs of boarding, are detailed on the ‘Attendance Costs for International Students’ that may be downloaded from the link below.
Please read the Application Form carefully and complete the application fully. Incomplete applications are difficult to process, and it is important to include all the information requested. Please make sure that your child’s recent school report has been translated into English by an official translator.
All students are required to provide evidence of English ability (IELTS or International School reports) and may be expected to sit an English proficiency test on arrival.
Students entering Years 11-13 are required to have a recent IELTS certificate with an overall band score of 5 or better in the academic module. Subject choices will be dependent on appropriate English ability levels. On the offer of a place, Saint Kentigern College requires evidence that the conditions of entry into New Zealand have been met.
The conditions of entry into New Zealand, the length of stay, and the purpose of that stay, must be clearly understood by the applicant's parents and all documentation is wholly the responsibility of the applicant's parents.
To apply for a Student Visa, a letter of offer from a New Zealand school is required.
The student's family will need evidence of having sufficient funds to pay entry and tuition/boarding fees for their chosen school. The Immigration Service requires evidence that full fees for one year have been paid in advance. The Immigration Service also requires written guarantees of accommodation (in the case of Saint Kentigern College, this is a confirmed place in the boarding house), and evidence of medical and travel insurance.
International students are accepted for one year and must reapply for any subsequent year. Students accepted as paying international students are not eligible to change to domestic student fees in any year in which they are accepted as international students. The fee refund policy is set out in the Enrolment Agreement and allows for partial refunds only.
