Sharing Hope And Kindness

May 08, 2020 at 3:03 PM

After being challenged by a friend to make 100 origami birds during the holidays, Year 6 Girls’ School student, Jeanna Ho decided to make use of the opportunity to show kindness. In Japan, origami birds symbolise hope and healing, so Jeanna thought there would be no better time than now, during the Covid-19 lockdown, to share these with her neighbours.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Jeanna will deliver the birds to her neighbours with the following bible verses about peace attached to them –

‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27).’

‘Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16’)

Jeanna says she hopes the birds will bring hope and happiness into people’s homes and encourages the wider Saint Kentigern community to do something similar to spread kindness.
