Young tennis players from all over New Zealand competed in the New Zealand Junior Championships at Scarbro Tennis Centre in Auckland last week.

After a week of matches, Year 8 Boys’ School student, Christoph Grant came away as the 12U Doubles Champion, alongside partner Matthew Browning and he also gained runner-up in the Singles event.  This follows on from outstanding results at the Wanaka Junior Open at the beginning of January, where Christoph placed first in the 12U and 14U Boys Singles.

Also, great results at the Nationals from Year 10 student, Ema Miyuara who came 1st in the 14U Singles, Year 9 student, Tina Li won both 12U Singles and Doubles, Year 8 College student, Jack Loutit came 3rd in the 12U Boys Doubles and Year 10 student, Ana Tamanika came 4th in the 14U Mixed Doubles. Ana and Ema then partnered up in the 14U Girls Doubles and placed 2nd.

Such a great effort from all students in very important events, well done to all.
