Colour Run Returns Bigger and Bolder

14 March 2026

The Top Field at Shore Road was a far cry from its usual serene green on the sunny afternoon of 7 March, as Girls’ School families arrived, eagerly anticipating the excitement of another Colour Run. Following the success and enjoyment of the 2024 event, this year’s run built confidently on its inaugural debut.

The day began at a gentler pace, with families spreading picnic rugs across the field and settling into the early afternoon. A range of activities created a festival-like atmosphere, with bungee trampolines and a human-sized snow globe providing novel fun before the main event unfolded.

At the heart of the afternoon, of course, was the run itself, reimagined this year to offer greater spectacle. Participants were met first by a foam pit, ensuring that every runner began the course coated and ready to collect the bursts of colour that followed. From there, the route demanded both agility and determination. Girls, siblings, and parents scrambled beneath netting in a military-style crawl, balanced along beams, and navigated a large inflatable obstacle course before emerging in a cloud of colour.

Central to the success of the day was the work of Jess Wahlstrom and the Parents & Friends committee, whose thoughtful planning ensured the event was both seamless and expansive in its offering. Their efforts were evident in the careful attention to detail that allowed families to participate fully, whether on the course or from the side-lines.

As the afternoon drew to a close, the remains told the story. Shoes dusted in colour, faces marked with bright streaks, and a shared sense of enjoyment from our community.
