SKC’s Got Talent Closes Arts Week on a High 

A week of lunchtime performances and events culminated in an Arts Week tradition, as seven finalists took to Elliot Hall for SKC’s Got Talent on the final Friday of Term 3. 

With Sophie Macky and Gaby Lamb as MCs, the lunchtime finale moved swiftly between music, dance and drama. Chloe Yip opened with a song at the piano before Loyee Shen performed a ballet solo and Momo Liu followed with contemporary dance. Sessi Tuakalau and Trista Tian then paired vocals with guitar, each performance shifting the mood and pace of the programme. 

Pippa Ensor and Mia Mishriki took things in another direction with a scene, before music returned for the final two acts. Athena Liu and Oliver Bennet performed a vocal duet, while Ayden Singh-Ali, accompanied by Andy Li on piano, rounded out the seven finalists. 

The range of performances gave judges Mr Emtage, Mrs MacDonald and College alumna Melody Lui-Webster plenty to consider. As they deliberated, 2025 winner Josiah Paletaoga returned to perform an original piece, having won last year with his rendition of Alice in Chains’ Nutshell. 

Congratulations to Momo Liu, whose agility and expressive movement earned her the 2026 SKC’s Got Talent title. Loyee Shen placed second, with Sessi Tuakalau and Trista Tian in third. For a hall full of supportive students and staff who traded their final lunchtime of the term for a seat at the show, the cheers suggested it was an exchange well worth making.
