Perfect Score for Kevin and Nathan: 2021 International Baccalaureate results

January 11, 2022 at 12:00 PM

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma examination results have just been released and we are delighted to share that two of our 2021 graduates, Kevin He and Nathan Xu, achieved the highest possible score of 45 out of 45 points.

This is an impressive achievement for Kevin and Nathan, who join five other students in New Zealand who were awarded full marks in 2021. They are two of 239 students to be awarded 45 points, out of 16,860 students from the Asia-Pacific region, who completed the Diploma assessment in November 2021. They are placed in the top 0.18% worldwide with their results.

In addition to Kevin’s and Nathan’s remarkable achievement, an additional 13 students scored ‘40 points or above’ from the maximum of 45 points. These students represent approximately the top 6% of IB Diploma graduates globally.

The 39 Year 13 students who entered the IB Diploma programme in 2021 achieved an average point score of 38. This compares favourably with the world average of 32.39 and the New Zealand average of 36. New Zealand students punch well above their weight in this demanding, international programme that is highly recognised worldwide for university entry.

Congratulations to our top IB Diploma students who will be invited to a Top Scholar’s Awards Ceremony which will be held on 12 February at St Margaret’s College in Christchurch. Well done!
