New-found Confidence at Year 5 Camp
On a bright Wednesday morning in March, our Year 5 girls set off for one of the highlights of their year – their camp at Shakespeare Regional Park. With excitement building on the bus, the group arrived ready for three days of challenge and growth.
Across the programme, students embraced a wide range of activities. From team challenges and archery to ocean swimming and kayaking on the Hauraki Gulf, each experience encouraged confidence, cooperation, and a willingness to try something new.
Some evenings allowed the group to wind down with a sunset walk, other nights were the complete opposite. One of these was the high-energy Lip Sync Battle. A special visit from Principal Mrs Duston added much excitement to the competition, as students proudly performed their routines.
Throughout the camp, leadership and independence continued to grow, alongside new friendships. It was a memorable few days that captured the spirit of Year 5 t step up, support one another, and make the most of every opportunity.
