Let’s Glow Crazy

19 June 2026

When the lights in JC Chalmers were put out, they stayed out. Under UV, white shoelaces, socks and shirts turned electric, and Let's Glow Crazy was underway.

Every ticket came with glow sticks and the Glow Station took care of the rest. Face decals and glow paint were available through the night, and by the time the DJ had the floor moving, the hall was a shifting field of neon.

Some girls had planned well ahead. Brightest neon was the brief and it was taken seriously, with one Middle School student arriving in glowing butterfly wings that were visible from every corner of the room.

Years 0 to 4 had the space first. They took the floor from the opening song and did not give much of it back. The photo booths did steady business between dances, enjoyed by staff and students alike. At seven the Years 5 to 8 session took over and the room changed character. A little cooler, but just as loud.

Credit goes to our Parents & Friends committee, who handled the decorations, the DJ, the Glow Station, the glow sticks in every ticket, and the clean-up long after the last song.

By the end of the night the glow paint had migrated well beyond the faces it started on, which is generally how you know a disco has worked.
