Chalmers Surge to Relays Victory

01 April 2026

With forecasts pointing to rain and heavy skies, House relays looked set to be a washout. Instead, the sun broke through and with it came the most charged House event of the year so far.

The swim relays were held in two halves. The Year 1 to 6 boys took to the pool earlier in the day, generating plenty of noise and early House support. When the Year 7 and 8 students arrived, they stepped into a fresh contest, building their own momentum from the first race without the context of earlier results.

With A, B, C and D relays for the older year groups, the format rewarded depth as much as speed. Each race contributed, and the margins were shaped equally by consistency and standout performances.

Chalmers established themselves early, carrying strong swims across multiple relays. As the afternoon progressed and the standings tightened, every finish drew an immediate response from the banks. The final race of the day, the Year 8 A relay, brought everything into focus, a fitting close to an afternoon defined by sustained effort across all teams.

When the final points were confirmed, it was Chalmers who emerged on top.
