A Night to Remember: Year 9 Social Returns

15 August 2024

After many years of hiatus, the Year 9 Social has won its place back on the annual College calendar! Held on Friday, August 9th, our Year 9 students partied the night away, celebrating in style. The social was proposed as a fundraising event for the World Vision 40-Hour Challenge, continuing our 40-year partnership with World Vision. This year’s theme was neon, with spot prizes awarded to students dressed in their most vibrant fluorescent outfits.

The Service Council, along with a small team of Middle School Leaders, came together to organise and decorate the hall in dazzling fashion. Students were greeted by bright streamers and a giant balloon garland, followed by food stalls and a fantastic photo booth run by Service Prefect, Indigo Launder-Upton.

The night was packed with great music, lively dancing, and even a fun sing-off between the guys and girls. A special shout-out goes to Year 12 student Harry Connell, who stepped up as DJ for the night and kept the dance floor buzzing with an epic playlist. Some of our teachers even joined the dance floor, but they couldn’t quite outshine our enthusiastic student helpers. The atmosphere was electric, with many students buzzing about the event, and those who didn’t attend were left with a serious case of FOMO!

Overall, the Year 9 Social was a huge success, raising over $2,000 for World Vision. We look forward to hosting another unforgettable night for next year’s cohort!
