A Clean Sweep for Wishart

Blue sky, a dry course, and four houses rearing to go was the perfect recipe for kick off of the Years 3 to 8 Cross Country at the College. Runners could not have asked for better conditions, pushing through the field with grit and determination, cheered on by parents and classmates who had already crossed the line.

Wishart topped the overall standings, propelled by a clean sweep of the Year 8 podium by Mila Henison, Willa Gilchrist and Christine Cooney. These same three names filled the Year 7 places twelve months ago, now reshuffled at the top.

Back at Shore Road, our youngest runners in Years 0 to 2 ran their own course at Martyn Wilson Fields. They too enjoyed clear skies for their race, making it easy for the hordes of parents to support with a coffee in hand.

Cross country tests endurance and quiet nerve in equal measure. Here, the girls answered with effort, and with plenty of smiles at the finish line.
