The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Drama teacher to join our collaborative and dynamic Creative and Performing Arts team, within the College’s Physical and Creative Learning portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or emerging teacher to inspire students through engaging, high-quality Drama programmes and contribute to the continued growth and development of Drama at the College.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning, creative practice and academic progress, while contributing positively to the wider co-curricular and cultural life of the College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality Drama programmes aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and student achievement
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing review of units, programmes and assessment practices
  • Use relevant achievement and learning data to support student progress and inform teaching practice
  • Collaborate with curriculum leaders and teaching colleagues to support Faculty and College strategic priorities
  • Promote Drama across the College and encourage strong student participation and engagement
  • Contribute to productions, performances and the wider Performing Arts co-curricular programme
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and creative learning environment in which students can thrive
About You
You will be a registered New Zealand teacher, or eligible for registration, with a genuine passion for Drama education and supporting young people to achieve their potential.

You will also bring:
  • A recognised teaching qualification and a current practising certificate
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary teaching, learning and assessment practice
  • Experience teaching Drama at secondary school level
  • The ability to develop positive and effective relationships with students, colleagues, parents and other stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contributing to a high-performing team
  • A commitment to supporting the co-curricular life of the College
  • A willingness to uphold the special character, culture and values of Saint Kentigern
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing practice
