The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Athletic Development Coach to join our Athletic Development team. Working closely with the Head of Athletic Development and Director of Sport, this role supports the delivery of strength and conditioning programmes across Years 7–13, helping students develop the physical capabilities, habits, and confidence needed to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver age-appropriate strength and conditioning programmes across a variety of sports and student levels.
  • Support the design and implementation of long-term athletic development pathways.
  • Supervise and engage with students in the gym, promoting safe and effective training practices.
  • Assist with monitoring student workloads and contribute to injury prevention and athlete wellbeing strategies.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing review of health and safety practices within the athletic development environment.
  • Contribute to coach education, including facilitating workshops, inductions, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Heads of Code, Physical Education staff, coaches, and other stakeholders to align athletic development programmes with sporting and educational goals.
  • Build positive and productive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external sporting organisations.

You will be an energetic and knowledgeable professional with a genuine passion for sport, youth development, and helping young people achieve their potential.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Relevant qualifications in Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Science, Athletic Development, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering strength and conditioning programmes across multiple sports and age groups.
  • A strong understanding of long-term athletic development principles and injury prevention strategies.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a sporting or training environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build rapport and credibility with students, coaches, and staff.
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative, and adaptability.
