We are excited to invite applications from inspiring and forward-thinking educator to lead our Technology Faculty, encompassing Computer Science, Design & Visual Communication, Food Technology, Product Design, Animation & Motion Graphics, Fashion & Textiles Design and Building & Construction.

As Head of Faculty – Technology, you will guide a team of passionate, skilled teachers who bring design thinking and creative problem-solving to life every day. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across Years 7–13, ensuring programmes are innovative, inclusive, and connected to real-world contexts that challenge and excite learners.

Our Technology spaces are among the best in New Zealand with purpose-built workshops, design studios, commercial kitchens, and fabrication labs equipped for creativity, sustainability, and enterprise. The faculty has a proud reputation for collaboration, high expectations, and authentic, hands-on learning that fosters curiosity and technical excellence.

This is a significant leadership opportunity (4 MUs) for an experienced educator who is motivated by excellence in both teaching and team development, and who sees Technology as a vital space for shaping the next generation of creative thinkers, designers, and makers.

About you
You are an accomplished Technology educator who brings both educational leadership and strategic vision to your work. You lead with purpose, balancing innovation and structure, and you understand how to turn ideas into measurable improvement for students and staff alike.
You demonstrate the ability to:
  • Lead teaching and learning through a clear educational vision grounded in evidence and best practice
  • Use data intelligently to identify trends, monitor progress, and inform continuous improvement
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families that foster belonging, engagement, and excellence.
  • Engage confidently with external partners, including tertiary institutions, industry, and community organisations, to enhance learning pathways and authentic experiences.
  • Inspire collaboration and curiosity, creating a team culture where creativity and rigour thrive side by side.
