2025 Scholarship Applications are now closed.

Saint Kentigern College is a leading, independent, co-educational Presbyterian secondary school in Auckland. We provide scholarship opportunities for students entering the College in Years 9-11, 2025 and beyond.

Our goal of enabling exceptional students from all walks of life to achieve their dreams is founded in the Presbyterian values of contributing to society and seeking to help others aspire and achieve.

Saint Kentigern College Scholarships are awarded to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Saint Kentigern College.

Applications are invited from students who:

  • demonstrate excellence in Academics, Performing Arts, Sports, and/or a combination of these, i.e. All-Round talent
  • would uphold the Saint Kentigern values and have a positive attitude
  • have a clear vision of how they see themselves in the future and the contribution they would like to make to the College and wider community

 

Scholarships are available for tuition or boarding.

Scholarships are awarded from the beginning of Years 9, 10 or 11 and are for the duration of the student’s schooling.

All candidates applying for a scholarship may be invited to sit academic testing, attend an audition, and/or participate in a sports trial.

All scholarships are subject to annual review and continuation is dependent on the student’s academic performance, attitude, and contribution to the overall life of the College.

Scholarship Timeline:

  • Applications open on Wednesday 1 November 2023
  • Applications close on Tuesday 5 March 2024
  • Scholarship examinations will take place on Saturday 6 April 2024 and applicants must be available to attend on this day.
  • Applicants applying for a Performing Arts Scholarship may be invited to attend an audition on Saturday 6 April 2024.
  • After the testing day, results will be reviewed by Heads of Departments and the Scholarship Panel. Short listed candidates will be invited for an interview with the Scholarship Panel in either Term 2 and 3.
  • All applicants, both successful and unsuccessful will be notified of the outcome of their application by email.

 

Scholarships Available – you may apply for up to 3 categories only.

Academic Scholarships

  • For entry to Year 9, 2025
  • Demonstrate strong academic ability
  • Involvement in cultural, sporting and community activities

This scholarship has a maximum value of 50% of the tuition fees.

Performing Arts Scholarships

  • For entry to Years 9, 10 or 11, 2025
  • Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre and Drama
  • For talented students with a proven technical, creative, or musical excellence
  • Students will be required to participate fully in their chosen field and take the required subject for Year 9-13

This scholarship has a maximum value of 75% of the tuition fees.

Sport Scholarships

  • For entry to Years 9, 10 or 11, 2025
  • General sporting excellence with a proven record
  • Demonstrate an outstanding attitude and sportsmanship
  • Good academic ability
  • Students will be required to participate fully in their chosen sport for their entire time at the College, and prioritise the College team over any club teams

This scholarship has a maximum value of 90% of the tuition fees.

All Round Scholarships

  • For entry to Years 9, 10 or 11, 2025
  • General excellence in Academics, Performing Arts and Sport
  • Demonstrate an outstanding attitude and sportsmanship
  • Involvement in cultural and community activities

This scholarship has a maximum value of 50% of the tuition fees.

Boarding Bursary

  • For entry to Years 9, 10 or 11, 2025
  • Students must display an outstanding attitude and involvement in school life

This scholarship has a maximum value of 50% of the boarding fees.

Please note, the College tuition fees are not covered by this bursary.

Old Collegian Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the Saint Kentigern Old Collegians Association and is awarded to one or two students annually.

Preference will be given to students with a strong family connection to Saint Kentigern and students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Saint Kentigern College.

This scholarship has a maximum value of 33.3% of the College tuition fees.
