Saint Kentigern students are great communicators and gain enormous benefit from their involvement in speechmaking and the dramatic arts.

Each student prepares and gives a speech in their class, developing speech writing and delivery skills.

The proficient speakers participate in the internal speech competitions and the winners of these competitions represent the School in external competitions.

Drama is taught as part of the Options in Year 6 and the Innovations Programme in Year 7 and 8. Boys have the opportunity to perform regularly at assemblies and for parent audiences.

Every second year, a full-scale drama production is staged involving a large cast and crew. There are opportunities for boys to become involved at many different levels from leading roles to learning the many skills of a backstage crew.

As part of the Teaching and Learning programmes there are many other opportunities for dramatic skills to be developed.

External Drama programmes are on offer to the boys as an extra and they have the opportunity to partake in the External Examinations.
