IMG_2900.jpgCongratulations to Year 10 student, Joshua Oxenham and his Year 9 brother, Ben for some fantastic results at the New Zealand Secondary School Mountain Bike championships held over the weekend.

After competing in the Downhill, Cross Country and Super Sprint events, Joshua was with both the North Island and New Zealand U16 title and Ben finished 8th overall. In the Downhill, Joshua was 26sec clear of his nearest rival, he overcame technical difficulties with a flat tyre in the Cross Country and then went on to ride the fastest time of any rider in all age groups in the Super Sprint.

There were over 40 schools from all over NZ competing at the even with points from each of the schools’ top five riders counting towards the winning school. With just the two riders from Saint Kentigern, the Oxenham brothers carried off a creditable result to place 9th in New Zealand. Well done boys!
