With the Year 7&8 races taking place earlier in the year along with the Middle College runners, and the Junior School scheduled for this week, last week was the turn of our girls in Years 4-6 to run the cross country.
Held on the College campus, the races alternated with the runners from the Boys’ School. With both schools on the course, along with a great turn out of parents, there were plenty of supporters to cheer the students on!
Bright, crisp sunshine and a firm, yet muddy, course made for great running conditions and the girls dug in, with those in the lead keeping up a cracking pace. Cross country running takes a bit of resilience and it was great to see the slower runners keep at it, with support from the House leaders to encourage them to the finish line.
Well done to all the girls, especially those who placed. We now look forward to watching the Juniors later this week.
