Dive, Swim, Rock N’ Roll!

March 23, 2018 at 4:19 PM

A blaze of sunshine, a sea of colour, determined swimming, spirited chanting and a dancing chaplain were a fantastic way to end this year’s Girls’ and Boys’ School swimming sports. The electric-charged event brought together both schools in a friendly morning of relay competition, wrapped up with a good dose of fun!

Each year group fielded teams of four for the relays, whilst the rest of the girls and boys lined the banks and cheered on the swimmers. House spirit rose in crescendo as swimmers surged forward and the winning place looked certain!

There was no time for energy to drop or spirits to flag as in between races, those watching were set dance challenges – with Reverend Reuben Hardie leading the charge on the timeless favourite, the YMCA. The music and moves were all there – and the parents weren’t shy about joining in either!

After the final student relay races had been swum, it was time for the combined teacher and parent teams to face off against the students for one final, fun race. The older swimmers needed a little more practice as the younger, fitter, svelter Boys’ School cleaned up!

This was another fantastic Saint Kentigern family event and it was fabulous to see so many parents join us for the morning.

And the winners? Wishart for the Girls’ School and Cargill for the Boys!
