Deputy Head Girl wins Remuera Speech Competition!

September 02, 2015 at 2:52 PM

Congratulations to our deputy head girl, Zara Smith for winning the prepared speech category at the Year 7 and Remuera Zone Speech competition! Zara had earlier won the Year 8 level of the our in-house competition and was selected alongside Terri-Jane Warner to represent Saint Kentigern at the next stage. Terri-Jane was chosen to compete in the impromptu speech category on the topic, ‘The Best Day of my Life.’ She spoke about her trip to Bali and made an impressive fist of filling the minimum two-minute time period with interesting anecdotes. The topic of Zara’s winning speech was ‘We should have less sports TV for men’, which combined humour as well as some serious points for fathers to consider around their viewing of sport. She will now progress to the Champion of Champions competition where she will be up against the winners of each zone from around Auckland. Well done to both of you and good luck to Zara for the Champions of Champions event!
