Chalmers Claim the 2019 Swimming Title!

February 12, 2019 at 9:52 AM

The sun was beaming down and spirits were high as students from both the Middle College and Senior College gathered in a blaze of colour around the pool to cheer on the swimmers at the first House event of the year.

Preliminary heats had been raced during the first days of term, to award House points for participation and determine which swimmers would race in the finals.

On finals afternoon, the atmosphere around the pool was buzzing as races got underway. House Prefects led the students to cheer on their representative in the pool and provided great support to the younger swimmers. Once again, we welcomed Year 7 and 8 swimmers from the Girls’ School who put in a strong performance.

To conclude the day, the prefects raced against staff members in the annual relay races which brought some of the loudest cheering of the day!

With results tallied, Chalmers claimed the swimming title, followed by Hamilton and Stark in 2nd and 3rd place. Congratulations to all swimmers, age-group champions and Chalmers for winning the first House event for the year!
