Did you know electricity always takes the easiest path to the ground? That your body is 70% water? And that water conducts electricity?
As part of Science Week at the Girls’ School, these were some interesting facts that Tracey Rayner, Children’s Safety Programme Coordinator at Vector talked about when she visited this week. As well as supporting Science Week, her presentation, ‘Stay Safe Around Electricity’ connected with the Year 4-6 girls’ unit on electricity.
During the interactive presentation, the girls learnt why we need electricity, how we get electricity and how to stay safe around electricity. They also had the opportunity to be involved in a number of fun exercises and engaged in discussion – and there certainly was no shortage of volunteers to dress up as linesmen!
