An opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Christian Education, commencing in 2026.

In This Role You Will

• Provide professional leadership within the Christian Education Department.
• Teach Christian Education across Years 8–13.
• Maintain and promote high standards of teaching and learning.
• Support the Head of Department with curriculum strategy, including reviewing programmes, units of work, and analysing achievement data.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders and teachers to advance school-wide strategic goals.
• Promote the subject, encouraging engagement and supporting strong academic progress.

What You Will Bring

• New Zealand registered teacher with a current practising certificate.
• Relevant teaching degree (or equivalent qualification/experience).
• Experience teaching Christian Education or Religious Education at secondary school level.
• A qualification in Theology or Biblical Studies (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of current teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
• Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with young people, colleagues, and the wider community.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Positive, collaborative team member with enthusiasm and commitment.
• Willingness to uphold and model the special character and values of Saint Kentigern.
• Commitment to contributing to the College’s co-curricular life.
• A strong understanding of health, safety, safeguarding, and child protection, with a commitment to best practice.
