Year 8 Boys Trifecta at AKSS Tri Champs

March 20, 2013 at 3:33 PM

Dylan McCullough, Ryan Church and Callum Walsh made it a blue and white wash in the Year 7/8 Boys' AKSS Tri Championship held at the College on March 14. In a stunning performance, Dylan and Ryan lead from the front, with Callum running through several boys ahead of him to grab a thoroughly deserved 3rd place. Ben Manning had a very good race to finish in 8th and make it four College boys in the top ten.

In the Junior Boys, which was the largest field of the day with 37 entries, Daniel Whitburn had a blistering bike leg to gain more than 11 places and retain that position to take out third place, with Liam Cappel coming in 4th and Fraser Hamilton with a consistent performance across all three legs coming in 5th. George Ellett in 7th made for another four Saint Kentigern boys in the top ten.

In the Junior Girls, Jamie Lindsay had the 4th fastest bike time, to finish 7th overall. In a field of 27,  Lauren Hendricksen, Aimee Hollis, Lizzy Mudford and Anna Murphy made it four in the top ten when they took out 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th in the Intermediate Girls.

In the Intermediate Boys (again a large field of 36), Matt Manning crossed the line in 2nd with Liam Ward coming in 3rd. Matt McCullough and Caleb Aoake, in 7th and 8th, made yet another four boys in the top ten.

In the Senior Boys, Tim Mudford gained 3rd place and Maddie Evans, our sole Senior girl entry gained 2nd place in her division

It was another day when our 48 entrants did the College proud. We are especially proud of those who were competing in just their first season. Well done to you all. We are grateful to the support of our Sports Administrator, Steve Clifton, along with the parents who are always so supportive of SKC Tri.
