Over the last two weeks, the Girls’ Junior and Middle School students have been making their mark at their Athletics Days.

Competing at the College, our Middle School girls had to battle against intermittent, torrential downpours but they didn’t let this affect what they were there to do – give everything a go and compete to the best of their abilities.

Our juniors had completely opposite weather the day they competed at the Boys’ School, with beautiful, clear blue, sunny skies - sunblock, hats and plenty to drink were a must on a day when summer felt so close!

Each day started off with the optional long distance race. For Years 1-3 it was the 200m and students in Years 4-6 could opt to do the much longer 800m, which resulted in some rather shocked faces when they realised they had agreed to do two laps of the field but they gave it their all.

The girls were in great spirits and gave each activity a go, from running to throwing and jumping. At both athletics days, the girls showed a brilliant display of competitiveness and sportsmanship.

Special thanks to all the staff and senior girls who assisted at each event, for enduring the wild weather to record, measure and time! Also, Congratulations to Wishart for winning the Athletics House Champion title.

The Senior School students competed alongside the College students earlier in the year, with Year 7 student, Jade Nomani placing 2^nd overall, against 100 girls. All the girls are looking forward to the House Relays at the Boys’ School on November 20.
