College students Connor Brown, James Fouché and Mikayla Harvey have been named in the BikeNZ U17 Elite Development Squads.
The squad is selected every spring and includes the best ten male and female riders from throughout the country based on performances in cycling tours and national championship events.
Each year the new squads participate in regular training camps and facilitated events, and are looked after by road and track National Junior Development coaches to help develop their riding.
The Junior Development Programme aims to create great riders who are set up for future world-class performance and is the stage of the rider development pathway from 16 to 19 years of age.
Athletes that are part of this squad will hopefully have the opportunity to represent New Zealand in Australia in 2014.
