It was another inspiring and though provoking day at the TEDx Conference in Auckland for a group of our Year 12 and 13 students.
TEDx conferences are mainly about two things - ideas and inspiration and are focused on bringing together the best talent to inspire attendees with tales of innovation, success and passion.
It was the senior students’ second opportunity to attend the conference, and this time around they were privileged to hear 17 speakers talking about their latest innovations and personal stories from a wide range of areas.
Highlights included former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clarke speaking about Women and Leadership and her role as Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme,
Professor Richard Faull, Professor and Director of the Centre of Brain Research, talking about his breakthrough research in stem cells, and Welby Ings, Professor of Art & Design at AUT enthusing about creative thinking.
