It was a weekend of success on a wet, soggy track in unremitting rain for our Saint Kentigern Kartsport drivers at 13th Annual Auckland Area Schools KartSport Championships.
In a field of 20 primary/intermediate and 10 secondary schools from around the Auckland area, both the College and Boys’ School teams won their divisions to claim both the Primary and Secondary trophies!
James Blair and Scott Allright teamed up from the College to win the secondary division. Year 12 student, James secured two wins and four fastest laps and Year 13 student, Scott came away with three top five placings. Their combined points secured a 10th win for the College in this annual competition.
Mitchell Frazer, Year 5, Benjamin Hurst, Year 6 and Taylor Hurst, Year 7 represented the Boys’ School and despite surface water on the track, the younger boys demonstrated their race techniques in the very challenging conditions. Mitchell placed 2nd overall in the Cadet Raket class, Taylor placed 5th in the Junior Restricted 100cc Yamaha class and Benjamin placed 6th in the Vortex Mini Rok class.
Once points were tallied from the two highest placed drivers from each school, Mitchell and Taylor were the highest place team winning a trophy each as well as one for the school.
Congratulations boys!
