Another College swimmer has experienced success at the New Zealand Open Swimming Championships. Hayden Church was the lead swimmer in the Open Mens 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay. Along with Old Collegian, Daniel Hunter and two Macleans College students, the team of four won the gold medal.

Hayden also did a personal best to qualify for the A Final of the 50 freestyle, a hard event to swim against 20yr+ men when you are only 16! Hayden was also selected as the male ambassador for the Swimming New Zealand Awards dinner on Saturday night, chosen because of his achievements during this season. 

In further news, Emma Hanley who won an individual bronze medal at the event went on to win a further bronze medal as part of the 4 x 100m relay team.
