Earlier during lockdown, we brought you a story about the Mudford family teddy bears bringing daily joy to walkers in Howick, with their ever-changing antics in the Mudford’s front garden.
The daily action has continued! Ted has been busy sewing masks, knitting, fixing the tractor, zip-lining, going to the beach, getting vaccinated, sailing/capsizing, fishing, playing Scrabble, Connect 4 and hide and seek, having a sleep-in and a Level 3 picnic. He even appeared one day in Saint Kentigern’s 1st XV rugby gear and a few days later was seen playing cricket!
And they celebrated a special milestone recently, when they were put on display for the 100th time!
But the bears have also been bringing cheer in another way, collecting food donations from passers-by for those less fortunate. During Level 3, the Bears have sent a substantial weekly delivery of food items to the local Foodbank, thanks to the local community.
Thank you to the Mudfords, and staff member, Susan in particular, for bringing a smile at times like these!
