New Plymouth was a great location for this year’s National Championships with two day of exciting races in great weather conditions.
Friday was the individual races and the new fast format transition relay. Ruby Spring was a national medallist winning bronze in the U14 Girls’ race.
The following day saw teams of four competitors getting ready to compete in the tag team relay, all expecting to do a short swim-bike-run. Sadly, due to the water quality, the swim element was cancelled and the race was changed to a run-bike-run. Four of our teams placed on the podium with gold for the U14 Mixed and the U16 teams. The U14 Girls were awarded silver and the U13 Mixed team bronze.
Well done to all the students taking part, especially the medal winners!
