Following on from the official opening of the extension to the Old Collegians Sport Centre early on Friday morning, marking the start of the 65th Jubilee Celebrations at the College, a large group of past and current staff, including former Executive Head, Mr Warren Peat (2001-2008), Trust Board members and Old Collegians gathered on a balmy evening in the Jack Paine Centre for cocktails and fellowship. For many of the older, returning students, this was the first time they had visited the stunning Arts and Technology block that lends itself so well to a function such as this.
There was much laughter and reminiscing as friends and former classmates caught up with one another, with many an old tale to tell. This was particularly so for the group of former Bruce House boarders whose bonds ran deep. Also in attendance was Danny Gowan from London, who for many years has graciously hosted the London Old Collegians’ Reunion.
Principal of the Senior College, Mrs Suzanne Winthrop welcomed the guests saying that the College truly appreciates the support of the Old Collegians who continue to provide support for each of our schools, in particular, funding scholarships for students each year. President of the Old Collegians, Mr Hayden Butler also spoke on behalf of the Association encouraging those gathered to continue their ties to Saint Kentigern.
The guests chatted on long into the evening; a most successful event enjoyed by many.
