On a glorious Friday summer evening, families of the Girls’ School spread out on the lawn in front of Corran House to enjoy their annual family picnic. The cool shade under the surrounding trees provided welcomed respite from the late February sun which shone high into the evening.
Dads were busy on the BBQ sizzling sausages and the Parents and Friends stall kept up with the demand to quench thirsts and keep hunger at bay. Cooling watermelon, sticky candy floss and cold drinks were also guaranteed quick sales under the hot summer sun.
Parents were able to relax and socialise while the students and their siblings were kept entertained with activity stations, a bouncy castle, balloon animals and a dip in the pool. Again this year, the Year 8 students had set up and managed their own stalls in a show of their leadership skills. The face painting and nail painting art proved popular with the girls, while the boys enjoyed the creativity of the colouring and craft activities.
A fabulous al fresco evening was enjoyed by all. Thank you to the Parents and Friends Association for organising the successful event.
