Farewell To The Year 13 Students

October 29, 2014 at 3:16 PM

This year’s cohort of 259 Year 13’s spent a final morning at College, firstly attending Chapel where they were welcomed into the ranks of the Old Collegians by President of the Association, Mr Andrew Morgan and recent Old Collegian, Elliot Sharp, before being piped to the Sports Centre.

In what is unfolding as a tradition, first instigated by the students in 2012, the students were to organise themselves into a giant 2014 on the field for an aerial photo. Sadly the weather was not kind! As the walk up from the Chapel was ‘just a bit damp,’ the decision was made to risk it and the Year 13’s made their way out on to the field, just as the heavens opened – big time! Having got that far, they persevered. This year’s graduates will definitely not forget the last day they spent at College!  A large number of wet, bedraggled Year 13’s then giggled their way up to the Sports Centre Lounge to enjoy a substantial brunch. The boys received their Old Collegian’s ties and the girls their tartan scarves, which they are all encouraged to wear to their final formal function of the year; their Graduation Dinner in December.

For now, we wish our departing Year 13s all the very best as they take advantage of these last few days of study leave in preparation for their final exams.
