Our Saint Kentigern A Year 7 and 8 Boys Team have won gold medals in the Team Time Trials at the North Island Secondary Schools Cycling Championship over the weekend.
Held on the same course as previous years around the back country roads of Cambridge, our boys did us proud by securing an overall time of 30:43:79 in the 16 kilometre track on a day of good weather conditions.
Also continuing on the Time Trial winning streak were also our Senior and Junior Teams. At the awards ceremony held on Saturday it was silver medals for the Senior Boys, and bronze for the Senior Girls, while the Junior Boys and Girls were awarded bronze medals respectively.
Our Team of Year 7 and 8 Girls also accomplished the Time Trial race well and this was the first time the girls had ridden together as a team.
In the Individual Road Races it was 2nd place success for riders Callum Walsh, James Fouche and Mikayla Harvey who all received silver medals at the Sunday awards ceremony.
The riders in the Road Races saw a few minor crashes along the way with no major injuries, and it was pleasing results for all teams over the weekend.
