Year 13 student, Connor Brown has added to his impressive cycling résumé with selection in the New Zealand team to compete at the World Junior Track Cycling Championships! Connor is one of five boys named in the 12-strong team for the event in Switzerland later this month. More than 200 entrants aged 17 and 18 from 35 countries are taking part, representing the new generation of track cyclists.
Connor, who rides for the Skoda Racing team, is the reigning Oceania U19 3000m champion and also won gold in the 4000m team pursuit. He repeated his double gold medal effort at the Auckland Track Championships and also enjoyed podium results at the nationals. Connor’s talents also extend to road cycling, where he has won medals and broken records at national level and represented New Zealand. He has been preparing with his world championship teammates at events in Australia and a training camp at the Avantidrome in Cambridge.
Congratulations Connor and all the best for the world championships!
