College Rowing - Head of Harbour

February 19, 2013 at 10:48 AM

After good preparation at the summer rowing camp, Saint Kentigern College Rowing Club was well represented at the annual Head of Harbour regatta at Lake Pupuke. Warm, settled conditions prepared the way for our rowers to take part in some exciting racing.

Our congratulations  to the U17 Boys Coxed Four who  performed very well, winning their race by two lengths. The U18 Boys Quad Scull had a nerve wracking race and fought hard all the way to second place. The U18 Coxed Four also gave it their all to also finish in second place and the the U18 Boys Novice Double Scull worked hard for their third placing.

The most exciting race of the day is always the much anticipated final of the U18 Boys Eight. This is always a very competitive race and our boys really worked hard to gain pace. With only a small distance between the top contenders, the team couldn’t gain the advantage but were nevertheless pleased with their third place.
