Foodbank is a long established part of our service initiatives at the College. They are held regularly throughout the year and are an opportunity for the Saint Kentigern community to donate to those less fortunate or in need.
Winter warmers such as tinned and packet soups, creamed corn, dried and tinned legumes and quantities of instant noodles overflowed from the shopping bags and boxes which were being sorted through and organised by students from each house in Elliot Quad.
Presbyterian Support Northern Foodbank are always appreciative of our efforts in collecting all of the food items and assisting to restock their shelves. The food items are then made up into parcels by the Foodbank volunteers and given to clients who meet certain criteria.
Leading the charge again from last term was Hamilton, who with 2,767 food items, are the clear winning House. Second place was Chalmers at 2,076, followed by Cargill at 1,018 and Wishart with 923. In all a total of 6,784 donations were collected.
We would like to extend our thank you to our community for your on-going care and assistance in helping us to be able to provide to such a worthy cause.
