A team of around 40 represented the College at the Eastern Zone Athletics Champs at Mount Smart on Tuesday.
The weather was once again very hot and humid, numbers were low across all events and age groups.
Andrew Jackson won the shot put, discus and javelin in the senior boysEthan Blight won the 200m, 300m and Shot Put in the junior boys
Tori Kolose won the 200m and 300m in the junior girls – both college records but smashing 300m record by over 3 seconds
Lucy Macdonald, Bernard Charles and Hannah Ward all won their 800m races
Patrick Herbert won the triple jump and was 2nd in the high jump in the intermediate boys
Mayah Coleman won the discus in the junior girls
In the relays the junior boys and girls 4 x 100m dominated their races and placed 1st to qualify for Greater Auckland Champs, the intermediate boys placed 2nd.
A large number of students have qualified through to the Greater Auckland Champs to be held at Mt Smart Stadium on the 26th March after placing 1st or 2nd at the Zones, with more on the reserve list after placing 3rd.
Last week was the 3000m at Lloyd Elsmore Athletics track – Matthew Manning won the Intermediate Boys, Maddie Evans won the Senior Girls
