Last week, our 2022 Boys’ School prefects were commissioned at a special service held in front of our brand new Senior Boys’ and Specialist Facilities building.

The ceremony begun with Reverend Reuben Hardie leading a prayer and reminding the boys of the strength that comes from following the golden rule of leadership; demonstrating service to others, and exemplify the schools’ values of respect, integrity, service, excellence and love.

After a reading by the newly elected Boys’ School Head Prefect Toby Wigglesworth and a prayer by the Deputy Head Prefect Oliver McGuinness, guest speaker College Head Boy, Archie Manning came forward to share some words encouragement. He urged the boys to seize every opportunity, to ‘keep walking’ against all odds and to build resilience from handling challenges. He motivated the new prefect team to own their role and make it their own in inspiring their peers and in carrying out their duties.

As part of the commissioning, Principal Peter Cassie presented Toby and Oliver with the prefects’ pledge and they in turn accepted their duties of leadership. Toby and Oliver then introduced the rest of the prefect team to the school, with each prefect taking turns to come forward and receiving their badge.

These capable student leaders have demonstrated impressive achievements and involvement over the years, and we look forward to their positive and enthusiastic contribution in their new roles this year.
