Peter Cassie, Principal Saint Kentigern Boys’ School
Our School exists today due to the generosity of its founders, who had the vision, passion and energy to establish and build this magnificent boys’ school.
Over the past decades the campus has advanced significantly with a mix of beautiful heritage buildings and contemporary structures designed to keep us at the forefront of primary education. A formal development strategy for the school was initiated in 2006 and the first major project of this development plan, the Jubilee Sports Centre, was opened during the School’s 50th Jubilee in 2009.
Further development was completed in 2017 with the renovation and redevelopment of Roselle House into a new School Library and Learning Commons and enhanced administration facilities.
At the end of 2017 Saint Kentigern Trust announced its long term strategy for development at the Boys’ School and across the organisation. This Master Plan for development includes exciting new specialist facilities for Technology, Science, Music and the Performing and Visual Arts, a new Senior School teaching block as well as enhanced classroom learning spaces for both the Junior School and Middle School of the Boys’ School.
The Roselle Foundation was established to support the school’s on-going development and to provide the structure for long term financial independence at the Boys’ School.
The Roselle Foundation is governed by a formal Charter and led by a group of Guardians comprising parents, past parents, Old Boys, Saint Kentigern Trust Board members and staff. The Roselle Foundation Guardians meet regularly to consider and promote philanthropy within the community, working with the Trust Board to attract and manage on-going funding streams for the School. The Roselle Foundation has conducted two major fundraising campaigns – the first to support the Jubilee Sports Centre and, more recently, the Building Minds Building Futures campaign to raise $2.5 million for the new Roselle Library and Learning Commons. The Roselle Foundation, through the Development Office, also runs the Boys’ School Annual Giving programme.
