We welcome your interest in becoming an international student at Saint Kentigern Girls' School.

Saint Kentigern Girls’ School is a signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

Copies of the Code are available on request from the school or from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority website.

We love to share our school and culture with children from other parts of the world and we accept International Students on certain conditions.

The School accepts applications from international students who are aged between 5 years and 11 years old. In order to study long-term in New Zealand students from Year 1-6 must live with a parent. Year 7&8 students who don't live with a parent must seek permission from the Administrator of the Code of Practice.

Once a place at Saint Kentigern has been offered, it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that the correct visas have been obtained. Full details of visa and permit requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at

Students will be placed in an appropriate mainstream class and will learn alongside New Zealand students of similar age studying the full New Zealand curriculum. There is no specific English language requirement for international students applying to Saint Kentigern Girls’ School.

Saint Kentigern Girls’ School is a friendly and welcoming place to learn. It does not take long for new students to settle into class and feel a part of the school.
