Fides servanda est The faith must be kept
The Saint Kentigern motto highlights a Christian heritage, which is fundamental to all of the School's endeavours. Through guidance and prayer we promote a strong spiritual awareness and social conscience as corner stones in the character of our students.
The Chaplain has a vital role in the life of the School. Christian Education, Chapel and family services of worship offer a spiritual foundation for a positive perspective on life in today's world and hope for the future.
Young people are encouraged to accept the difference of cultures and seek knowledge for the glory of God and the benefit of others through body and mind and service to others.
SAINT KENTIGERN SCHOOL PRAYERS
MONDAY:- Saint Kentigern Prayer: O Lord Jesus Christ who didst give such grace to Thy servant St Kentigern that he readily obeyed Thy call and brought light to them that sat in darkness and the knowledge of truth to those who were in ignorance and fear, so inspire us also that we may follow Thee gladly and hating all that is cruel and evil and wrong, may ever strive to banish these things from our land. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
TUESDAY: O Lord our God, our Helper, and Friend, forgive our sins and help us this day in our play and in our work to be your good and obedient children. Bless us all teachers and scholars, friends and families as we seek to please you. For Christs sake. Amen
WEDNESDAY Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do your will; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
THURSDAY: O God, our loving Father in Heaven, we pray you to be with us all this day. Help us to do our work well for your sake. Keep us from idleness and carelessness, and help us to use our talents so that nothing may be wasted, but that in everything we shall do our best to love and serve you. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
FRIDAY: We commend unto your fatherly care, O God, those who go forth from this School, praying that your loving kindness and mercy may follow them all the days of their lives. Strengthen them in temptation, preserve them in danger, assist them in every good work, and keep them ever in the way that leads to eternal life; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
School Song We are sons of Kentigern Who, they say, in days of yore, Once in Northern land afar Light and truth to Scotland bore.
Sundered far from Scotlands shore In this land so fair and free We, his heirs, resolve to be Faithful, brave and true as he
Never let our faith grow dim As we strive with mind and heart, In the classroom, on the field We will play a manly part.
Scattered wide throughout the land When to Mans estate weve grown We will keep our heart and hand Loyal to the faith weve known.
