| ADMISSION PROCEDURE
 Saint Kentigern School admits boys in Year 1 (normally at the beginning of the term in which they reach five years of age) and in Year 7.
There are also a limited number of places available each year in Years 3 and 4.
Entry at all other levels is only possible if vacancies occur.
Applications may be submitted at any time for Year 1. For Year 7, applications may be submitted at any time, but at the latest by January 31st in the year prior to intake. No priority list is kept and the School endeavours to interview all boys along with their parents/guardians for these two entry levels.

A non-refundable application fee of $250 (incl GST) must accompany each registration.
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE REQUIRED WITH THE APPLICATION: Passport style photograph of applicant (affixed to application form) Application Fee ($250 non-refundable) made payable to Saint Kentigern Trust Board Birth Certificate (Year 1 Applicants) Photocopy of most recent School Report (for those changing Schools) Photocopy of passport/visa entry for non-New Zealand students Written letter of reference
INTERVIEWS Interviews are arranged by the School during Term 1 of the year preceding entry.
Year 1 applicants are asked to bring a copy of the boys Birth Certificate and all other applicants a copy of the boys most recent report.
Interviews take place in an encouraging and friendly atmosphere with the parents present throughout. It is normal that the interviewer will direct many questions to the prospective student and record notes during the interview, which will last approximately 15 minutes.
Families will be advised in writing by mid-year as to the success of their application.
Students accepted for Year 7 sit an entrance test in July to provide the School with additional information on their performance.
ENROLMENT CONFIRMATION For students entering Year 1 to Year 6, to secure the place the following needs to be completed: The Enrolment Agreement must be signed and returned. Payment must be made of the fees below: Acceptance Fee $750 (To accept your place). Association Fee $450 This covers life membership of the Saint Kentigern Old Collegians’ Association and membership of the Saint Kentigern Parents and Friends’ Association). Education Bond of $2,000 (One bond per family - nil GST).
For students entering Year 7 and Year 8, to secure the place the following needs to be completed: The Enrolment Agreement must be signed and returned. Facilities Levy of $2,000 (nil GST).
Should your application subsequently be withdrawn, the Acceptance and Association Fees are non-refundable. The Education Bond is a non-interest bearing deposit which will be refunded when a boy leaves either the School or the College, provided the appropriate notice has been given and accounts due have been paid. At withdrawal, parents may elect to donate all or part of their Education Bond towards a special project or fund. The Facilities Levy of $2,000 is for boys coming to the School for Years 7 and 8 only. Should they continue to the College, this levy will be converted into the Education Bond.
CONTINUING EDUCATION AT SAINT KENTIGERN COLLEGE Students at the School are encouraged to continue their education at Saint Kentigern College. A Year 6 or 7 Saint Kentigern School Student is eligible for a Priority Advance Application to the College with no application fee payable. This applies to students who will be new to Saint Kentigern School in Year 7, as well as current students. A special enrolment confirmation fee will apply, which will be offset against College fees. Families wishing to take advantage of this must apply before the Priority Closing Date which is usually mid March. Students of Saint Kentigern School in Year 8 are also eligible for a Priority Application to the College, provided they apply before the Priority Closing Date. Students who miss the Priority Closing Date will be considered on the same basis as general applications.
