Many of our senior students go on to earn places at some of the best universities in the world.

The Senior School at Saint Kentigern College, has very strong academic, co-curricular, pastoral care, leadership and service programmes.

Up until the end of Year 10, our students are taught in separate gender classrooms.

When they enter the Senior School at Year 11, our girls and boys work together in a co-educational setting, developing teamwork and collaborative skills.

As an IB World School, our senior students select, at the beginning of Year 12, whether to continue with their NCEA course work or whether to opt for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma pathway for their final two years of study.

Our results in both qualifications have placed us year after year amongst the top performing academic schools in New Zealand, allowing many of our students to command advantageous places and scholarships at top universities both in New Zealand and overseas.

Senior School Course Handbook

The Senior School NCEA and IB Diploma Course Handbook provides an enormous amount of detailed information about both curricula and the range of optional subject choices available at each Year level. Whilst students entering the Senior School may not have determined their career direction, it is essential to begin the process of considering future options and areas of interest. Our Student Services department is able to help students seek information about the vast range of university courses and careers now available. Information about secondary pathways to tertiary courses are also outlined in this information rich booklet.
