Mr Lachlan Craig, Voice
BMus (Hons) First Class
Mr Lachlan Craig completed his BMus in Performance Voice at the University of Auckland studying with Dr.Morag Atchison. He has recently completed his Honours Degree in Choral Conducting and Pedagogy with Dr.Karen Grylls, gaining First Class Honours, as well as completing specialist topics singing large collections of works by Britten and Schumann, and giving a lecture recital on the adolescent male voice. Mr Craig has become one of the most versatile tenors in NZ.
He is a member of Voices NZ Chamber Choir, The University of Auckland Chamber Choir and the Age of Discovery. He also sang in the NZ Secondary Students Choir, NZ Youth Choir and V8 Vocal Ensemble. He has performed as a soloist with Auckland University Opera, Opera Factory, Regional Choral Societies, Youth Choirs, and National Choirs throughout NZ. Mr Craig has also been chosen to participate in several master classes with The Kings Singers, Ian Honeyman, Dana J. Wilson, Jo-Michael Schiebe, Rodney Eichenberger, and Simon Halsey.
Mr Craig is employed full-time as teacher of singing and Director of Choirs at the College. In 2013 he conducted the University of Auckland Chamber Choir as a Guest Conductor, and in 2014 he was the choral adjudicator and clinician at the Rhapsody Rotorua Festival, as well as presenting at the NZCF Choral Connect Conducting Conference. Mr Craig is also an Old Boy of the College.
